CNA Education
When I wanted to do some teaching on our unit, I felt strongly about CNA education. I was aware of some situations where patients may have been affected due to a lack of knowledge/education by our CNAs. I felt that it needed to be a high priority to educate our CNAs on skills pertinent to our unit. I felt that it was important to ensure that our aids felt comfortable with different patient situations. I worked alongside with my educator to put together a competency sheet that would be used to educate or CNAs. I then sat down with each CNA to individually educate and answer any questions they had. All new CNAs/ACPs would be required to complete a unit specific competency list during orientation.
